This weekend we cooked a fall feast. Anticipating the torrential downpours that the weather channel called for, we figured it was a good time to hunker down with our favorite fall veggies and favorite people. Despite the fact that mother nature did not deliver the showers we expected, we went ahead and hunkered down none-the-less. For our first course we made these addicting brussels sprouts – a true fall favorite.
4 shallots, chopped
2 leeks, chopped
2 pounds brussel sprouts, cut in half
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons Sriracha
1 tablespoon butter
1.) Saute leeks and shallots in olive oil and butter.
2.) Add brussels sprouts to pan, saute until they are brown.
3.) Heat ingredients for the sauce in the microwave or saucepan.
4.) Mix the brussels sprouts and sauce in a separate bowl – not the pan, unless you want a tough pan to scrub 🙂
5.) Serve piping hot.
